I am hyperthyroid as my tsh was 0.05 before 3 month. I was taking carbimazole 20. But now my tsh is 33 and doctor has reduced carbimazole to 5 mg. He has also written thyrox 50 mch. Please suggest could we take both hyper and hypo medicines together. Do it contradict in body.

Hello sir, Neomarcazole has rapidly controlled your Hyperthyroidism and you are going into hypothyroidism, so intake of thyroxin is indicated in the form of Thyrox 50 micro GM. But as you were hyperthyroid some time back it is prudent to also continue with low dose of Neomarcazole now. Sudden surge of thyroid hormone may be due to Thyroiditis viral in origin. So close monitoring is required.
